Of the three All Things Must Pass -era bootlegs, this is both Last Night On The Back Porch - Joe Fingers Carr - The Riotous, Raucous, Red-Hot 20s! most comprehensive and least essential, consisting of no less than three discs of alternate takes from the sessions. It takes the documentary approach of classic-album-in-the-making to its extremes, with no less than ten takes of "Apple Scruffs," and for instance, and multiple versions of "Beware of Darkness," "Let It Down," "Art of Dying," "What Is Life," "Awaiting On Your All," and other songs from the album.
These aren't much different from the finished, familiar versions; they're usually tracks sometimes minus the vocals in the process of being overdubbed and mixed, so you might hear a track without the keyboards, then the same track with it, and so on.
Combined with the eye-popping expense of a triple-CD set, we're talking serious-fans-only here. On the other hand, the sound quality is absolutely superb -- as good as the official album itself -- and it is interesting, from a scholarly viewpoint, for its illustration of how some of the better tracks were assembled. Interesting bonuses are an early version of "You," a song which was left off the album although it was re-recorded several years laterand alternate takes of Ringo Starr's "It Don't Come Easy" and "Goodnight Vienna.

Art of Dying Lyrics: There'll come a time when all of us must leave here / There's nothing sister Mary can do / Will keep me here with you / As nothing in this life that I've been trying / Can.

All Things Must Pass is one of my favorite Beatle solo albums and to have 3 CD's worth of outtakes from these sessions was a dream come true for us Harrison fans. Sound quality is unsurpassed and Phil Spector's not muddied the production yet. Reproman cloned their version from this and added 3 Ringo tracks from Midnight Beat's E.P.
